Our path to sustainability

We have great ambition in the field of sustainability and are strategically integrating sustainability into our company culture. To achieve the company’s future vision of being customers’ and consumers’ first choice, sustainability must be upheld throughout the value chain.

We intend to be in the lead among Icelandic companies in the field of sustainability. Our goal is to meet the modern needs of our customers and consumers, without limiting the abilities of future generations of meeting their needs. We will achieve the company’s future vision by highlighting four issues: sustainability, growth, digital development and diversity. That way we create value for all of our invested parties and create value for the future.

EGS score

Our performance

We have received good ratings in Reitun’s sustainability evaluation. The company has a score of 84 out of 100 points and the evaluation states that the company is among the highest-rated in the Icelandic market.

In the EGS score, three factors are taken into consideration: Environmental factors, social factors and governance factors. Our highest score, 89 points, is for environmental factors. We have reduced direct emissions by 65% from 2016 and are committed to reach carbon neutrality in 2040.
